Lord of the Flies Mock Trial Reflection

Congratulations on completing the mock trial of Ralph! On your blog, please write a brief reflection on the events of today’s trial. Consider the following questions:

  • What were the strong points in my presentation?
  • What were my weak points? How could they have been improved?
  • Was the outcome of the trial what I expected? Why or why not?

  1. My strongest point was my redirect. My weak point was when I did not mention Samneric didn't mock Ralph anymore because he was a better leader than Jack. Yes, I thought Ralph would not be proven guilty because most of the violence was under Jack's control.

  2. In my discussion I believe that my strong points where that I was able to successfully turnaround a lot of their questions to make me look innocent and Jack look bad. I think I handled the questions well. My weak point was there was a question which I had absolutely no idea what my cross examiner was talking about, and because of it, I answered it poorly. I could have refreshed my mind of the events that happened. The trails outcome was not expected from the beginning, and I thought that because it was unreasonable to believe the Ralph was actually a main problem, especially because Jack was there. I also felt like A lot of the Opinions of the characters where unreasonable to believe, for example how people thought Ralph was a threat, when clearly Jack is crazy. I also did not expect to con to come off so strong, especially with their opinions for Ralph.
